Eventers Challenge at Warren Barn Farm, 11th July 2010

I just wanted to say a massive 'Thank you' to everyone who helped organise the Eventers Challenge on the 11th July.  I had such a good round.  The show jumping was really challenging with all its twists and fillers!  The cross country was really varied and over a good distance.  Liam and I had a great round and it has really boosted our confidence to come back for the next competition!

Thank you to everyone again, especially the jump builders and judges!

Mock Hunt at Church Farm, 21st February 2010

I just wanted to say it was the best mock hunt I’d been on since I lost my dear Kelpie!

I did still struggle with Fin’s brakes but the long fast runs were just what we needed for that not to be too much of a problem!  He absolutely flew the jumps (sometimes I wonder how as we often came into them all wrong, but he managed to find his “fifth leg”, so to speak!).   I had so much fun, it was just awesome J

If they were all long fast runs like that, I’d have no hesitation in doing more of the mock hunts!  The beginners hunts can be a bit hairy when you don’t have brakes and everyone goes a bit more slowly....

I hope, though, that David recovers OK – he took a pretty nasty fall, poor chap.

Thanks to all for organising it.

Mock Hunt at Church Farm, 21st February 2010

Thank you so much everyone who was involved with the mock hunt on the 21st of February.  My friends and I had a wonderful time, everyone was very welcoming and made the event enjoyable.  The country we rode across was beautiful and really put our horses' fitness to the test!  The jumps were great and varied in sizes but we managed to jump all of them!  Our nerves gradually disappeared as the hunt progressed and left us with a huge sense of achievement by the end of the hunt.  We hope to attend the hunt again next year and the hunter trials in April.

Pleasure Ride 5th May 2008

Dear WDHC,

Thank you so much for helping my daughter Sophie overcome great nerves and this year complete the pleasure ride.  The whole family had a wonderful time and Sophie said she had the BEST DAY OF HER LIFE!

This event was extremely well organised and as ever the team worked tirelessly and really deserve lots of appreciation and a massive hug.

At all the WDHC events we have attend with Sophie and her pony Tinkerbell (both aged 10) we have found everyone so friendly and encouraging. Sophie is a different rider this year and alot of her confidence has come from your team/events.

We would especially like to thank Kim who Sophie has become very fond of.  Kim deserves as many rosettes as Sophie has won as I am sure she puts in as much effort running round and chasing Tinkerbell when she has been naughty.

Sophie and her 7 friends that did the pleasure ride jumped most of the jumps and it was wonderful to watch them all at the Water!

Thank you again so much and for helping my daughter achieve her dreams.

Karen McGee-Brett.

Mock Hunt 27th January 2008

Dear Warlingham and District Horse Club,

Many thanks for a wonderful day out at you Mock Hunt on Sunday 27th January.  A group of our members, including a number of our junior riders attended and it was a perfect introduction to hunting for our first timers.  As a riding club we are very envious of your facilities at Warren Barn Farm.

Please pass on our warmest wishes to the Masters and all involved in organising the day, who did so in such a professional and caring manner.  We shall definately return!!!

Hunter Trials 18th October 2008

Hello

I just wanted to say a big thank you and a well done to all those involved in today's Hunter Trials.
The course was magnificent - the best I've ever seen at Warren Barn - really fun and festive too!
I was worried my horse Lucida's Castilla (Tilly) would stop at everything as she's a bit green cross-country
(especially with all those ghoulish masks and scary rugby shirts!) but we had a real ball romping round the course
and the 6th place rosette was a rather unexpected bonus!

All the volunteers must have worked so hard getting the course ready and on the day itself - from the course builderss
to Ann at the tack check, from the secretary's tent to the jump judges and commentators, and of course everyone in between!
I just wanted to say its very much appreciated - thank you so much.

Amanda Vaughan
